This session will examine Karen Manhiem Teel’s Framework for Cultural Competence and explore the connection between teacher expectations of student capacity and student outcomes. Participants will survey the Pygmalion Effect, review studies that examine how expectations influence student outcomes and provide practical solutions for using this knowledge in the classroom.
