BCCS provides parent workshops that introduce best practices in supporting childhood education through the use of culturally responsive methodologies and parenting tools.
The goals of the family workshops are to empower parents to develop a knowledge base for understanding the issues, challenges and strategies for cultivating an academically stimulating home environment grounded in the principles of culturally responsive pedagogy.
Parent Engagement Workshops
They provide parents with information and skills to incorporate educational tools to support their child’s education at home. Workshops introduce parents to films, books, conversations and exposure to community resources that have been proven successful in assisting students to minimize barriers between the home and school, thus improving academic and social development.
