This session will examine Karen Manhiem Teel’s Framework for Cultural Competence and explore the connection between teacher expectations of student capacity and student outcomes. Participants will survey the Pygmalion Effect, review studies that examine how expectations influence student outcomes and provide practical solutions for using this knowledge in the classroom.
Teacher Expectations and Academic Outcomes
Each workshop lasts approximately 90 minutes and is priced to accommodate materials for up to 50 participants. Workshops are multimedia events and require access to either a smart board with an audio system or other similar a/v system.
