These workshops will introduce parents to current research on the relationship between positive racial identity and academic success. The sessions will explore the trauma associated with racist socialization and the importance of parental involvement in cultivating a sense of pride for students of color. Participants will learn skills for building their students’ self-esteem and cultural pride to counter negative socialization.

Each online workshop lasts approximately 90 minutes. Online workshops require school partners to have access to a high speed internet connection with an audio system sufficient for participants to live stream the program.
