These workshops will introduce parents to current research on the relationship between positive racial identity and academic success. The sessions will explore the trauma associated with racist socialization and the importance of parental involvement in cultivating a sense of pride for students of color. Participants will learn skills for building their students’ self-esteem and cultural pride to counter negative socialization.

Workshops are multimedia events and require access to either a smart board with an audio system or other similar a/v system.
