This session will explore the crisis facing students of color in light of NYC DOE School Chancellor's charge for educators and parents to address issues of race and violence in the classroom and at home. Participants will explore the 9 themes of culturally responsive pedagogy and engage in a self-evaluation using Karen Manheim Teel's Framework for Cultural Competence.
